Whole-person Induction for Student Ex-Coms and Representatives
The W.I.S.E.R. is a series of Whole-person Induction for Student Executive Committee (Student Ex-Com) members who are running affiliated student organisations and Representatives who are appointed to participate in university governance, including the Council, Senate and its committees or University Committees / liaison committees or groups of institutional services. Committed to nurturing character building for the advancement of student leadership, student Ex-Com of affiliated student organisations are equipped with the attributes of integrity and excellence. The WISER dimension is designed for those in leading roles, with the essential skills necessary for effective organisational management and impactful campus life promoting integration and exchange.
Stream 1
Target: Student Executive Committee of faculty/school associations and departmental student societies and SAO affiliated clubs and associations
Student development opportunities are designed with the aims:
- to empower Student Ex-Com to effectively fulfill their responsibilities in the affiliated student organisations
- to inspire them to contribute to the accomplishment of the university’s strategic goals.
- to enable them to develop a comprehensive understanding of operational, ethical, and leadership challenges,
- to enhance their capability to orchestrate vibrant campus life for a student community embracing diversity and bringing positive societal impact.

Student engagement in university governance is most invaluable for the continuous advancement of campus life and co-curricular learning. Student representatives are appointed on a one-year term of office. They are empowered to serve as a bridge between the wide student community and the committees of catering, culture promotion, health & safety, student development and affairs, library and campus development.
The appointed student representatives are equipped with communication and teamwork skills through workshop(s) and training camp.
