From time to time, there are scholarships open for application by students or, the candidates of which are nominated by Dean/Head of faculties or academic departments. Please click here for the schedule of inviting application/nomination for details.

The following scholarships are open for application. Unless otherwise specified, the applicants must be currently pursuing a full-time undergraduate programme leading to PolyU award (i.e. HKCC, SPEED, PolyU inbound exchange students are not eligible). Kindly note that the Donors/PolyU reserve(s) the right to accept/decline any application or withdraw the scholarship(s) at any time (e.g. when there is no deserving candidate, in case of unforeseen circumstance, etc.). Please read the information sheet of individual scholarship carefully before submitting the application form. In case of any dispute/disagreement, the decision of the Donors/PolyU shall be final.

Scholarships Open for Application

Eligible student are welcome to join the Online Information Session for The Tung & Ngai Foundation Scholarship, with details as follows:

The Tung & Ngai Foundation (the Foundation) is offering up to FOUR scholarships to PolyU local full-time undergraduate degree students, who must:

  • be enrolled as a full-time first-year government-funded undergraduate degree student in the 2025/26 academic year (i.e. local students with student ID starting with “25”, including senior-year intakes, are eligible to apply).
  • be a Hong Kong Permanent Resident with right of abode in Hong Kong
  • have attained a Yearly GPA of at least 3.7 out of 4.3 by the end of Semester 2 of 2025/26
  • have a high level of proficiency in Chinese (Cantonese and Putonghua) and English
  • submit two recommendation/reference letters from their academic department/school, a personal statement and a learning proposal together with their application form.
  • demonstrate willingness to reside in Hong Kong or Mainland China for two years post-scholarship and engage in community contribution

The Scholarship covers:

  • (1) full tuition, (2) a living allowance of HK$40,000, (3) a subsidy of up to HK$80,000 for exchange programmes, covering one compulsory exchange on the Mainland and an optional international exchange programme with flexibility on programme duration, (4) an Endeavour Support Fund of up to HK$100,000 for career or start-up projects in GBA or other parts of China; and (5) other learning opportunities, including Orientation Programme, Salons, Scholar Forum, and Alumni Network.
  • The Scholarships are renewable annually based on academic performance with a Yearly GPA of at least 3.5 out of 4.3.

Completed application form with supporting documents should be submitted to Student Affairs Office (SAO) via SAO’s Scholarship Application System before 11.59 pm on 9 June 2026 (Tuesday).

SHORTLISTED applicants will be invited to attend an internal selection interview around 24 - 30 June or 3 - 6 July 2026. And the final interview (if invited) with the Foundation be held in the end of July 2026.

  • To local students who were admitted into a 4 or 5-year full-time government-funded undergraduate degree programme in the 2025/26 academic year (i.e. local students with student ID starting with “25” and who are Hong Kong Permanent Residents with Right of Abode in Hong Kong are eligible. Senior-year intake students are NOT eligible.).
  • Applicants should have obtained a minimum yearly GPA of 3.5 (with all letter grades available) by the end of semester 2 of 2025/26.
  • The shortlisted candidates, if being invited, MUST attend the face-to-face selection interview(s). The internal interview conducted by PolyU will be held around 24 - 30 Jun or 3 - 6 July 2026 and the final interview with the Donor will be held on 12 or 13 Aug 2026. No alternative arrangement will be accommodated.

This Scholarship is open for nomination by schools/academic departments.  Eligible students who are interested in applying for the Scholarship should approach their faculty/school/academic department for application details of the Scholarship no later than 26 May 2026 or the application deadline (if different) set out by your faculty/school/academic department.

List of Departmental Scholarship Liaison Officers

  • A maximum of 3 scholarships of HK$80,000 each.
  • The awardees should be current full-time non-local undergraduate degree students in 2025/26 and originated from specific regions of Mainland China.
  • Preference will be given to non-final-year students.
  • The awardees should have i) academic excellence (i.e. with a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5 by the end of Semester One of the 2025/26 academic year), ii) active involvement in extra-curricular activities and voluntary community services and iii) genuine financial needs.

  • 5 – 10 scholarships totaling HK$100,000, with individual value ranging from HK$10,000-$20,000.
  • To current full-time local undergraduate students.
  • Excellent academic results (minimum cumulative GPA in Semester 1 of 2025/26 should be over 3.0)
  • Financial needs will also be taken into consideration. Those applicants who have successfully applied the Government’s Tertiary Student Finance Scheme-Publicly funded Programmes (TSFS) will be given priority.
  • The applicants are required to contribute a minimum of 10 hours of voluntary community services in the current academic year. Please note that only those proven voluntary services will be considered.

  • Two scholarships each valued at HK$10,000 each.
  • To current local full-time ethnic minority (non-Chinese) students from PolyU undergraduate programmes. 
  • The awardees must be Hong Kong permanent residents with the right of abode in Hong Kong.
  • The applicants should have attained at least a cumulative GPA of 3.0 by the end of the second semester of 2025/26.
  • Priority will be given to students with proven financial needs.
