11 outstanding PolyU students from real estate, surveying and civil engineering disciplines were recognised under the SHKP-Kwoks’ Foundation x PolyU Building Homes with Heart Scholarship Programme in the 2025/26 academic year. Established in 2022, the programme supports exceptional students facing financial challenges and nurtures future talent for Hong Kong’s construction and property sectors. Over the past four years, 42 PolyU students have received scholarships totalling approximately HK$1.5 million. Many awardees have already begun contributing to the industry, including some who have joined the Sun Hung Kai Properties (SHKP) and its construction arm, Sanfield (Management) Limited (Sanfield). This year’s awardees were commended not only for their academic potential, but also for their commitment to professional development and sustainable urban growth. Before the ceremony, the scholarship awardees and Sanfield trainees visited International Gateway Centre (IGC), SHKP’s flagship commercial development above the West Kowloon High Speed Rail Terminus, where they gained first-hand insights into green building design, smart technologies and sustainability practices. The ceremony also highlighted the strong collaboration between SHKP and PolyU in advancing smart and sustainable construction. SHKP has also supported PolyU via research in smart building technologies, including energy-saving and low-carbon solutions applied at IGC. Through this scholarship programme, PolyU and SHKP continue to empower talented students, promote industry-academia collaboration, and nurture the next generation of professionals committed to building a greener and smarter Hong Kong.
