Financial Assistance Schemes Administered by SAO

When there is available bursary/loan fund open for application, details will be provided below. Interested students can then click the name of individual bursary/loan fund below for more information, if any.

Eligibility:

All local students enrolled on full-time UGC-funded Bachelor Degree programmes of the Faculty of Humanities (FH) and have demonstrable financial difficulties in settling tuition fees and/or basic living expenses.

Application Procedure: 

Please complete the Application form cum Consent form and submit them together with the supporting documents (part VI of the Form):

Eligibility:

Applicant should:

(1)   be a local full-time government-funded undergraduate student;

(2)   have demonstrable financial need;

(3)   have good academic performance

        - For Year 1 student: attained a GPA of 3.0 or above in semester 1 of 2025/26.

        - For Year 2 or above student: attained a GPA of 3.0 or above in semester 1 of 2025/26 and a Yearly GPA of 3.0 or

          above in 2024/25; and

(4)   have performed at least 10 hours of voluntary community services during 2025/26 academic year.

Eligibility:

Applicant should:

(1)  be a local full-time Bachelor’s Degree student from the Department of Building and Real Estate (BRE);

(2)  have obtained

       i) at least Level 4 or above for the Chinese Language subject of the HKDSE and a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.25

          in the latest semester; or

     ii) at least B+ or above for the subject of Chinese during study at PolyU and a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.25 in

         the latest semester; and

(3)  be able to demonstrate his/her genuine need for financial assistance.
