Mrs May YEUNG is a veteran student affairs practitioner with over three decades of experience at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University. A graduate of The University of Hong Kong, where vibrant university life shaped her appreciation of holistic education, May began her career in communications and public relations in the hotel industry, developing a strong foundation in the pursuit of excellence, stakeholder engagement, and people-centred communication before embarking on her long-standing career in student affairs.
Guided by the belief that education extends beyond academic achievement, May has dedicated her career to nurturing students’ personal growth, character development and readiness for the future. Her work spans co-curricular learning, campus life enrichment, amenities and digitalised service enhancement, and the promotion of an inclusive and values-driven university community.
May also brings rich and distinctive experience in working closely with student organisations. She has supported student leaders through a major governance review and transformation of student organisation structures, including the transition to a new affiliation model. Through this process, she has helped foster clearer governance, stronger accountability, constructive communication and continued opportunities for student participation and leadership development.
Through thoughtful communication, close collaboration and steady leadership, May works with students, faculty, administrative units, alumni and external partners to cultivate a supportive, cohesive and student-centred campus environment. Drawing on her depth of experience, institutional knowledge and enduring commitment to youth character building and values development, she continues to play a key role in strengthening campus life and advancing strategies for student development.
