Everyday Law

Through games and case studies, this course aims to help students to understand the legal system in Hong Kong, including: criminal and civil litigation, internet law, law on intellectual property, civil negligence, employment law, discrimination and privacy. Some FAQs include: “What is the jurisdiction of the court?”, “Is there any criminal liability in the internet?”, “Is there any criminal liability for visiting pornographic websites?”, “What kind of action will constitute discrimination?”, “What is sexual harassment?” and “Which kind of intellectual property are protected by law?”

Purpose:

Law is often considered as boring, complicated and difficult to understand. Through actual or simulated cases in real life, this course introduces common legal knowledge in a fun and relaxed way, thus helping students to understand the importance of law in society and in daily life.
