From time to time, there are scholarships open for application by students or, the candidates of which are nominated by Dean/Head of faculties or academic departments. Please click here for the schedule of inviting application/nomination for details.

The following scholarships are open for application. Unless otherwise specified, the applicants must be currently pursuing a full-time undergraduate programme leading to PolyU award (i.e. HKCC, SPEED, PolyU inbound exchange students are not eligible). Kindly note that the Donors/PolyU reserve(s) the right to accept/decline any application or withdraw the scholarship(s) at any time (e.g. when there is no deserving candidate, in case of unforeseen circumstance, etc.). Please read the information sheet of individual scholarship carefully before submitting the application form. In case of any dispute/disagreement, the decision of the Donors/PolyU shall be final.

Scholarships Open for Application

Application Deadline Extended to 12.00 noon on 22 January 2026 (Thursday).

The Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust (the "Trust") is offering up to 27 awards of The Hong Kong Jockey Club Compassionate Leader Scholarship (the "Compassionate Leader Scholarship") for competition by local first-year undergraduate degree students from nine local tertiary institutions in the 2025/26 academic year. The Compassionate Leader Scholarship (previously known as The Hong Kong Jockey Club Undergraduate Scholarship) covers (1) tuition fee, academic and living allowance for the entire normative duration of study towards an undergraduate degree programme, (2) overseas learning subsidies, and (3) an opportunity to participate in a leadership programme tailored for JC Scholars.

Value of the scholarships for 2025/26 academic year:

1) Full Tuition Fee
2) Academic Allowance: HK$18,700
3) Living Allowance: HK$59,600
4) Overseas Learning Subsidies: A lump sum of HK$80,000 for the normative year of study

Eligibility:

Applicants must:

  • be full-time local undergraduate students who are admitted to a government-funded 4 or 5-year degree programme in 2025/26, pursuing their first undergraduate degree (i.e. local students with student ID number starting with "25". Senior-year intake students are NOT eligible.);
  • have the right of abode or the right to land, or have entered Hong Kong on One-way Permits;
  • have completed their senior secondary education in Hong Kong;
  • have a high standard of academic performance:
    1. must demonstrate academic excellence in HKDSE or another recognised entry qualifications in 2025;
    2. must attain a GPA of 3.76 out of 4.30 or be ranked in the top 10% of their class by the end of the first semester of 2025/26;
  • Have outstanding achievements or exceptional leadership qualities; and
  • have proficiency in English and spoken Chinese (Cantonese or Putonghua)

Completed Application Form, Referee Recommendation Form, Department Recommendation Form and all required supporting documents must be submitted via the Scholarship Application System BEFORE 12.00 noon on 22 January 2026 (Thursday). To ensure smooth submission process and avoid missing the application deadline due to any unexpected technical issues, applicants are strongly recommended to submit their application well in advance. Late application will NOT be accepted.

* If you are unable to complete the Referee and Department Recommendation Forms by the extended application deadline, please upload a note to the online application system explaning that the Recommendation Form(s) will be submitted later. The Recommendation Form(s) can be submitted to SAO via email no later than 30 Jan (Fri).

Shortlisted applicants will be invited to attend the PolyU internal selection interview in person on 6 February 2026 (Friday) afternoon for further shortlisting 6 - 8 candidates for the Donor's consideration. The PolyU candidates may then be invited to attend a final interview with the Donor tentatively in March 2026, and the decision of which will be final.

  • Five scholarships of HK$20,000 each.
  • The applicants should be current full-time undergraduate degree students.
  • The applicants must have graduated from a secondary school in Guangdong Province and been admitted to an undergraduate programme at PolyU based on their National College Entrance Examination (NCEE) / Chinese Mainland Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) [高等學校入學考試] results. The scholarship will be awarded according to the following order of priority:
    • First Priority: Graduated from Jinshan Middle School, Shantou (汕頭市金山中學)
    • Second Priority: Graduated from secondary schools in the Chaoshan region (潮汕地區的中學)
    • Third Priority: Graduated from secondary schools in Guangdong Province (廣東省的中學)
  • The awardees should have academic excellence (i.e. with a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 by the end of Semester One of 2025/26).

  • The awardees should have academic excellence (i.e. with a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 by the end of Semester One of 2025/26).

  • The value of each Scholarship is HK$50,000 per annum, while the tenure is the normal duration of study of the awardee’s enrolled undergraduate degree programme.
  • To current bachelor degree first-year students, who were admitted into a PolyU full-time government-funded undergraduate degree programme in 2025/26 and pursuing the first undergraduate degree immediately succeeding completion of the senior secondary school education. (i.e. Only for students with student ID number starting with “25”, yet senior-year intake students are NOT eligible.)
  • The awardees are not allowed to hold any entry or post-entry scholarship(s) valued at tuition fee level or above upon acceptance of the AIA Scholarship offer.
  • Please refer to the information Sheet for the eligibility, selection criteria, award conditions and other details.

  • A total of 39 awards of HK$15,000 each.
  • To current full-time students pursuing government-funded programmes and with special educational needs (SEN) defined by the Hong Kong Rehabilitation Programme Plan issued by the Labour and Welfare Bureau. Both local and non-local students are eligible.
  • The selection shall be mainly based on academic merits of the candidates.

Deadline: 23:59 p.m. on 21 January 2026 (Wednesday).

  • 2 – 3 scholarships totaling HK$100,000, with individual value ranging from HK$30,000-$50,000.
  • The awardees must be current full-time undergraduate and postgraduate (both research and programme based) PolyU students aged 25 or below and being graduates of either one of the following local Secondary Schools/Colleges:

  • The awardees must have excellent academic results. Financial needs of the candidates will also be taken into consideration
