Scholarships Open for Application
- Around 6 scholarships valued at HK$10,000 each will be awarded in 2025/26.
- The award of scholarships is based on i) academic merit and ii) the quality of the voluntary service.
- The awardees should have participated in a voluntary service group with at least six persons and conduct voluntary teaching in the non-first-tier city in the Mainland China within six months before the scholarships are open for application. (Participation in PolyU service project(s) for fulfilling the requirement of credit-bearing service-learning subject will not be considered.)
- Preference will be given to those students who have not received the same scholarship before, or those who have participated in similar voluntary service before and with good performance.
Completed application form with supporting documents should be submitted to Student Affairs Office (SAO) via SAO’s Scholarship Application System on or before 11.59 pm on 1 March 2026 (Sunday).

- To current local/non-local students pursuing full-time government-funded degree or above level programmes.
- Candidates should normally have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 out of 4.0 or an equivalent standard by end of Semester One of 2025/26.The disciplinary record(s) of the nominees with PolyU (if any) may be taken into consideration in the selection process.
- The recipients should participate in an event/competition (e.g. Conferences/forums/workshops/seminars/training camps/competitions, service projects etc.) or an internship/placement (credit-bearing/non-credit bearing), or a field/study trip, or attend a course (e.g. foreign language immersion programmes, academic exchange programmes etc.) that is conducted outside Hong Kong (destination must also be outside the home country of the non-local students) in the 2025/26 academic year. Although there is no strict limit on duration, the outreaching activity should be more than 2 days.
- The outreaching activity should either be organised or endorsed by PolyU and conducted during the period of 1 September 2025 – 31 August 2026. Online activities are not eligible. Students departing during the recognized period for the 2026/27 Academic Exchange should apply in 2026/27.
- ROA recipients are only eligible to receive the award ONCE throughout their studies.
This scholarship is NOT open for application. Interested and eligible students who wish to be considered for nomination should approach the Scholarship Liaison Officer(s) of respective Academic Departments hosting full-time government-funded programme(s) on or before 18 March 2026 (Wednesday) or the date specified by your department (whichever is the earlier).
