  • Accessible wide gates are available at the Library entrance on P/F and the after-hours entrance at the 24-Hour Study Centre on 1/F for wheelchair users.
  • Library staff are always ready to assist students with special needs to use the resources and services available at the library. Apart from enjoying priority at all service points, students with special needs, if they want, can be assigned with a helper to help them locate the materials they need from the library. Please contact the Section Head of Access & Facilities  (2766 7884) for details.
  • Trolleys for carrying books for those who need are available on each floor of the Library.
  • Room L401a, located at 4/F South Wing in Library, is equipped with special facilities for use by students with special needs. Other than computers, there are PowerBraille, scanners, magnifying devices and speech synthesizer software and scanning & reading appliance. Students who need to use this room will just need to register with SAO and their student ID card will be specially coded. They can then gain access to the room by simply presenting their student ID card to the smart card reader.
  • Students with special needs could have priority booking for an Online Meeting Room (L303m), located at 3/F North Wing in Library, 3 more days in advance than other users. That is, students with special needs could reserve the room up to 10 days in advance via the Library’s iBooking System.
