Cantonese and Hong Kong Local Culture for Beginners 粵語與香港本土文化入門

This course is designed for students who have recently arrived in Hong Kong and whose native language is Putonghua. By learning practical Cantonese for daily use and certain aspects of local culture, students will be better equipped to continue their studies and navigate life in Hong Kong.
本課程專為初來港且以普通話為母語的學生而設,旨在讓同學掌握粵語的基本用語,以應付日常生活。課程以教授日常生活情境為主,學員可學到實用的粵語和一些本土文化,以應付香港的學習和生活。
Teaching Mode: Blended (50% Face-to-face lectures, 50% MOOC Online modules)
Medium of Instruction: Putonghua 普通話 (Face-to-face lectures) / English with Chinese subtitles (MOOC Online modules)
Quota: 150 per class
- To master the Jyutping system and use it to check and correct pronunciation.
掌握粵拼系統並使用其檢查和修正發音。
- To understand the general usage of Cantonese and its cultural context in Hong Kong.
理解粵語的一般用法及相關的香港本土文化。
- To construct simple phrases and sentences.
組織簡單短語及句子。
- To introduce oneself and make friends.
介紹自己、交友聯誼。
- To express opinions and views in various situations.

Ms Chen Yongyin
Ms. Chen Yongyin is a part-time lecturer at Hong Kong Baptist University, and Hong Kong Ta Kung Wen Wei Management College. She was a former faculty member at the Chinese University of Hong Kong. She has more than 10 years of experience in language teaching, and her target students include university students from Chinese-speaking and non-Chinese-speaking regions, executives and employees of enterprises in Hong Kong. Her research focuses on Chinese education and language pedagogy. She is also committed to promoting Chinese culture and Chinese teaching, hoping to facilitate students to integrate into Hong Kong life, understand the development of the Greater Bay Area, and have a deeper understanding of Chinese languages and cultures.
陳泳因老師
現同時為香港浸會大學,香港大公文匯管理學院兼職講師,曾任香港中文大學教職。有十多年語言教學經驗,對象學生包括華語地區學生及非華語地區學生,和在港企業員工。主要研究包括中文教學,語言教學法,更致力推廣中國文化,及中文教學,希望方便學習者融入香港生活,瞭解大灣區發展,並對中國語言及文化有更深入的認識。

Ms Carol Wong
Ms Wong is an experienced teacher of Chinese, Mandarin and Cantonese for over a decade. She has been teaching students, including non-Chinese primary students in Hong Kong, university students who are majoring in Chinese in the Czech Republic, non-Chinese adult students and adult students with Chinese language backgrounds. She is enthusiastic about joining hands with other devoted educators to provide high-quality language instruction.
黃就紅老師
在過去十多年來,黃老師非常熱愛教學工作,用英語教授來自世界各地的非華語人士,並用普通話教授母語為普通話的學生。在國内外不同院校教過不同背景的學生,都使她更加熱愛自己的教學工作,課餘亦總結自己的教學經驗做與語言相關的研究。
