EAGLE International Youth Leaders Summit

The EAGLE International Youth Leaders Summit (the Summit) 2026, themed “Aspire to a Sustainable World for Future Generations”, is a dynamic three-day programme taking place from 9 to 11 June 2026. The Summit brings together distinguished leaders, passionate youth, and community partners to inspire action and collaboration for a more sustainable future.

  • Features inspiring keynote speakers, including Ms Asuntha Charles (National Director, World Vision Solomon Islands and Vanuatu), Mr Rahul Malhotra (Head, Brand Strategy and Stewardship, Shell), and Prof. Daniel T.L. SHEK (Associate Vice President (Undergraduate Programme), PolyU), alongside other socially renowned leaders and practitioners
  • Opportunities to connect with young leaders from PolyU and partner universities around the world
  • Aligns with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and ESG
  • Cultural immersion and experiential learning in Hong Kong

 

Eligibility

Application for 3-Day Full Programme is closed.
Registration is now open for (Day 2) Keynotes and Panel Sessions.

All students from PolyU and UGC-funded universities are welcome to take part in (Day 2) Keynotes and Panel Sessions by Globally-renowned Leaders.

Seats are limited. Successful applicants will receive a confirmation email.

This Summit is supported by the University Grants Committee (UGC). Priority will be given to UGC-funded undergraduate students.

Day 1

(for invited students only) Welcoming Briefing and Cultural Immersion Day: The Diverse Faces of Hong Kong

The Summit kicks off with a warm welcome and a unique cultural immersion experience, highlighting the urban prosperity and urban poverty of the city.

Day 2

Keynotes and Panel Sessions by Globally-renowned Leaders

Engage with keynote speeches from distinguished leaders and participate in parallel panel sessions led by societal and industry partners.

About the Speakers

Prof. Daniel T. L. SHEK

The Hong Kong Polytechnic University

Associate Vice President (Undergraduate Programme),
Dean of College of Undergraduate Studies,
Chair Professor of Applied Social Sciences, and
Li and Fung Endowed Professor in Service Leadership Education

As a leading psychologist, Prof. Shek’s multidisciplinary research spans key topics including positive youth development, family processes, quality of life, programme evaluation, addiction, and spirituality. He is widely recognized for his prolific work on adolescent well-being, youth enhancement and service leadership education. Professor Shek received two Bronze, one Silver, and two Gold QS Reimagine Education Awards under the “Ethical Leadership”, “Social Enterprise”, and “Nurturing Student Well-Being and Purpose” categories, as well as the UGC Teaching Award between 2016 and 2021. He has been consistently named one of the world's most cited 2% scientists by Stanford University and Clarivate. In 2025, Professor Shek was named an inaugural Highly Ranked Scholar by ScholarGPS in Social Work and Chinese kinship research, representing the top 0.05% of all scholars worldwide.

Ms Asuntha CHARLES

World Vision Solomon Islands and Vanuatu

National Director

Asuntha Charles is the National Director for World Vision in Solomon Islands and Vanuatu, steering strategic efforts during a period of escalating climate and geopolitical challenges in the Pacific. With over 30 years of humanitarian and development leadership across Asia, the Middle East, and the Pacific, she is dedicated to driving transformative, community-led impact in some of the world’s most vulnerable communities.


Her extensive career includes leading large-scale responses in conflict-affected contexts like Afghanistan and Bangladesh. Her leadership is anchored in the conviction that local communities must shape their own development. Having dedicated her career to indigenous rights and advancing women’s leadership, her current vision focuses on youth empowerment; she actively champions initiatives that equip young people in the Pacific with climate-resilience and leadership skills to become the visionary leaders of their islands’ futures.

Mr Rahul Malhotra

Shell

Head, Brand Strategy and Stewardship

Rahul is currently Global Head of Brand Strategy and Stewardship for Shell worldwide, based in Singapore. In his 30-year career with Procter & Gamble and Shell, Rahul has led several multi-billion dollar, global businesses as P&L head, and helped shape the destiny of several global brands.


Over the years, he has lived and worked in Singapore, India, Japan, Switzerland, the US and the UK. Rahul is a passionate historian and economist. Married with two children, he enjoys reading non-fiction, music, hiking, and cooking. His personal passion is to inspire organisations in the private sector to be more purpose driven, leveraging their expertise and resources to make a real difference to the people and ecology of the planet.
