SAO Affiliated Interest Clubs contributing to Alumni Engagement - Part II

In a collaborative effort supported by the Student Affairs Office (SAO) and the Alumni Affairs Office (AAO), the current student members of the Photographic Society organised a notable event titled "Fotoholics Assemble” at the Alumni Atrium on 29 February 2024, enhancing alumni engagement through the joy of shared interests and experiences.

This gathering was crafted to bring together photography enthusiasts from the PolyU community, offering students and alumni alike a chance to explore the nostalgic world of film photography while fostering connections with an exchange of valuable insights into traditional techniques.

In "Fotoholics Assemble", Lee Lok, the President of the Photographic Society of the 2020-2021 session, delivered an absorbing presentation on film camera operation to 50 attendees. He enthralled the audience with hands-on showcases of several esteemed camera brands such as Kodak and Lomo, while also highlighting their distinctive characteristics. The evening thrived on a dynamic workshop with 30 alumni who were enthusiastically taking part in back-and-forth of inquiries and hands-on experiences. The undergraduate members of the Society also played a key role in the event by running a photo corner facilitating skills practice with a variety of props, reinforcing the interactive nature and spirit of collaboration.

Student-led interest clubs affiliated under SAO are proactively leveraged to make steadfast dedication to the strategic goals of PolyU and its community in different aspects. Efforts made by SAO Photographic Society and its members are highly applaudable as the University stakeholders eagerly anticipate the ongoing contributions of our affiliated interest clubs in enriching the sense of belongingness to the broader PolyU community.
