Event Highlights

On 22 January 2026, the Alumni Atrium was buzzed with excitement as we celebrated the Outstanding Contribution Award Presentation Ceremony for the PolyU Student Flag-Raising Team, honouring our students’ exceptional achievements and invaluable contributions to national education.

The event began with participants standing solemnly to sing "Ode to the Motherland" (《歌唱祖國》), a powerful expression of shared love and pride for our nation.

Prof. Ben Young, Vice President (Student and Global Affairs), warmly welcomed attendees and applauded the students for their unwavering commitment and disciplined efforts in flag-raising ceremonies. He expressed hope that these values would inspire future generations and extended heartfelt gratitude to our generous donors for their continuous support.

A total of 27 students were honoured with the Outstanding Contribution Award, while another 22 received the Distinguished Team Member Award. Esteemed donors presented these accolades, recognising the hard work and dedication of our students.

Captain Wang Yanchao expressed sincere thanks on behalf of the team, emphasising that the award symbolises their collective dedication and serves as both recognition of their efforts and a motivation for future achievements in their patriotic duty.

The event concluded with closing remarks from Prof. James Dai, Associate Dean of Students, who invited Mr Ng Wing-ki Stanley, CEO of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Foundation, to share his insights. Mr Ng expressed his delight at witnessing the impressive development of the team.

This ceremony not only celebrated our students’ achievements but also reinforced the spirit of patriotism and community that unites us all.
