The ceremony began with an inspiring speech by Professor Horace Mui, Dean of Students, followed by meaningful sharing from Ms Ho Yuen Kei, Gold Medallist at the 2024 Paris Paralympic Games, and Mr Marcus Lee, Chairman of the Equal Opportunities Foundation. Their words reminded us that inclusion is a shared responsibility and we can all contribute to, regardless of our position.
We were also delighted to recognise our 2024/25 Limitless Ambassadors and our beloved AmbassaDog, Bene, thanking them for their dedication to promoting inclusion and integration.
The atmosphere reached its peak with a vibrant lion-eye dotting ceremony and lion dance performance by the lion dance team (唐氏會醒獅隊), filling the venue with energy and celebration. This was followed by heartfelt stories shared by our alumnus with visual impairment Mr Merrick Ho and a current special educational needs (SEN) student. Lastly, a mini lunch concert featured talented artists with disabilities, Mr Yang Enhua, Mr Chris Tang and Ms Sharon Choi (owner of Bene). With their diverse abilities and unique strengths, their music brought the PolyU community together and added a joyful rhythm to the day.
Following the ceremony, the Festival included a series of activities, such as exhibitions, inclusive boccia, workshops, a mental health first aid certificate course, visits to the Caring Hub (also known as Diversity Resource Centre), and sharing sessions presented by individuals with SEN.
This is only the beginning. Join us and be part of the journey!
