On behalf of the Organising Committee, I would like to extend our warmest welcome to the six participating teams from Mainland China, Japan, South Korea and Hong Kong in the PolyU Asian Universities Water Polo Invitational Tournament.
This tournament not only serves as an arena for student-athletes to showcase their sporting excellence but is also a great occasion to foster collaboration and exchange among Asian universities. As a sports enthusiast, I firmly believe that participation in sports offers both physical health benefits and social benefits. Through sports we can build friendships, form bonds with each other, and strengthen international connections.
Taking this opportunity, I would like to express my gratitude to our main sponsor the Shun Hing Education and Charity Fund and other sponsors for their generous support. My special thanks also go to the PolyU Student Affairs Office, as well as PolyU colleagues and students for making this meaningful event happen.
I wish all participating teams every success in the tournament. It is our hope that this event will be a platform to promote water polo in Asia, stimulate cross-cultural dialogue, and spread the passion for sports in the community.
