Learning Cantonese with Fun (For English Speaking Students)
Learning Cantonese is fun, challenging and rewarding. Let’s enjoy a fabulous moment in these workshops! It is specially designed for students who have arrived Hong Kong shortly and/or those with no prior knowledge in Cantonese. Always welcome to express, free to explore and our goal is to connect our lives in Hong Kong in ways that are deeper and more than you can ever imagine.
Purpose:
- To listen and understand general terms in Cantonese.
- To construct simple sentences.
- To express your ideas and thought.
- To apply useful expression.
- To practise in situational dialogues (e.g. ordering food, shopping and bargaining).
- To introduce yourself in a confident way.
- To sing some interesting Cantonese songs.

Instructor |
Ms. Yu is a lecturer teaching at Hong Kong's Universities. With a Master's degree in Education, she specializes in teaching Cantonese to international students. With rich experience in teaching staff, PhD students, and undergraduate students, she has developed a deep understanding of their unique learning needs. Ms. YU is also a co-author of the Cantonese textbook "廣東話快靚正" (Gwong2 Dung1 Waa2 faai3 leng3 zeng3) and is dedicated to creating effective teaching materials.
虞建萍老師畢業於香港大學教育碩士 (中國語言及文學) 。由2015至今，於本港大學任教對外粵語課程。她深明各國來港的大學教職員與留學生之學習需要，並致力於編寫中文及粵語教材。她也是粵語教材"廣東話快靚正"作者之一。
