New ULS Equipment - Nikon Ti2-E Live-cell Fluorescence Imaging System

The University Research Facility in Life Sciences (ULS) is pleased to announce that the Nikon Ti2-E Live-cell Fluorescence Imaging System is now available for booking. The new system is an inverted, fully motorised, large-field-of-view wide-field fluorescence microscope equipped with a collection of state-of-the-art features for live-cell and large-tissue tile imaging. Antibody Day 2019 by Thermo Fisher Scientific

New CD spectrometer is now available for booking

Training Workshop for Circular Dichroism Spectrometer

A training workshop for the JASCO J-1500 Circular Dichroism (CD) Spectrometer will be held next Wednesday (27th February, 2019) at 14:30 in Y709. Updates on the ULS Equipment Charging Scheme (2019)

The University Research Facility in Life Sciences (ULS) will be updating our Equipment Charging Scheme with effect from 1 January, 2019. In the meantime, we are pleased to offer discounts to internal research groups with monthly usage exceeding HK$5000 (10% discount) or HK$10000 (20% discount). If you have any queries about our new charging scheme, please do not hesitate to contact our staff.

To get this offer, simply make a booking of LC480 via the ULS online booking system and forward the booking confirmation email to Dr. Ryan Chow. ULS Seminar: Revolutionary Holotomographic Microscopy Opens New Era for Label-free Live-cell Imaging

The University Research Facility in Life Sciences (ULS) is co-organising a seminar on holotomographic microscopy with Chinetek Scientific. Details are as follows: • Date: 30th August, 2018 (Thursday) • Time: 2:30 to 3:30 pm • Venue: Y817, Lee Shau Kee Building (Block Y) • Speaker: Dr. Eliot Park (VP of Tomocube) Tomocube’s holotomography series utilizes optical diffraction tomography (ODT) to enable users to quantitatively and noninvasively investigate biological cells and thin tissues. ODT can be used to reconstruct live cells to provide structural and chemical information about the cell, including dry mass, morphology, as well as dynamics of the cellular membrane.
