Ziwei Wei is an Assistant Professor of Marketing at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University. Her research centers on two interconnected areas: social perception and experiential consumption. She examines how hardship disclosures shape voting decisions in competitive contexts, revealing a self–other asymmetry in responses to such appeals. In parallel, she conducts a meta-analysis on nostalgia and investigates the trade-off between privacy concerns and personalization benefits in the disclosure of experiential purchase histories. Her work has been published in the Journal of Experimental Social Psychology and Current Opinion in Psychology.

Before joining PolyU, Ziwei earned her PhD in Marketing from Arizona State University. She also holds an MSc in Marketing and an MSc in Accounting from the University of Florida.
