Message from Alumni

In the past year, the MSc in Global Business and Decision Analysis programme’s curriculum has given me great flexibility and practical value. Subjects like BUSINESS ANALYTICS and MODELS FOR DECISION MAKING strengthened my data analysis skills, while subjects like GLOBAL BUSINESS and INTERNATIONAL TRADE AND LOGISTICS MANAGEMENT combined theoretical knowledge with real-life cases, cultivating my ability to analyze complex business situations. The programme also allows students to explore different fields according to their interests, which is an approach I truly value.

As for faculty, I sincerely believe that every teacher I have met has been outstanding. They don’t just treat teaching as a task, but hope that students can generate their own dialectical insights. They encourage students to ask and answer questions during lectures, rather than pursuing “The one right answer”. This open academic atmosphere taught me how to think independently instead of passively accepting.

I have always been interested in business behavior and decision-making logic in complex international environments. The MSc in Global Business and Decision Analysis programme provided me with a platform and resources for in-depth research in this field. This year’s systematic learning brought me closer to my research interests and clarified my future direction.

My two years of work experience revealed that qualitative intuition alone is insufficient for precise business decisions; solid data skills are indispensable. Seeking this synergy, I joined the MSc in Global Business and Decision Analysis, a rigorous yet flexible program that transformed me into a data-driven decision-maker.

What sets GBDA apart is its perfect balance. Core modules like Global Business and Business Analytics equipped me with the quantitative rigor to translate chaotic data into actionable strategies. Meanwhile, electives such as International Operations Systems and Project Management allowed me to transcend the limitations of spreadsheets, revealing how logistics, operations, and finance intertwine globally.

Beyond academics, PolyU’s rich ecosystem—from industry alumni lectures to extensive library data resources—offered endless growth. Collaborating with peers from diverse backgrounds broke down functional silos, preparing me to integrate or lead cross-cultural teams confidently.

Ultimately, GBDA does more than confer a degree. It reshapes how you perceive global business, instilling a mindset of analytical and confidence. It is a highly rewarding choice for anyone aspiring to thrive in tomorrow's business landscape.
