Prof. Song Miao got her PhD degree from MIT. She then joined the Department of Industrial and Manufacturing Systems Engineering at the University of Hong Kong. She is now a professor in the Department of Logistics and Maritime Studies at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University. Her research focuses on applications of optimisation methods in operations management, particularly inventory optimisation and supply chain network design problems. She has published in top journals such as Operations Research, Management Science, Production and Operations Management, and INFORMS Journal on Computing. Her research has been supported by the Excellent Young Scientists Fund (Hong Kong and Macau) of National Natural Science Foundation of China.
