Biography

Dr YANG Dong is an associate professor and associate head of the Department of Logistics and Maritime Studies at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University. He holds various prominent positions, including Director of the International Shipping and Transport Logistics Master Program and Deputy Director of the Shipping Research Centre. Dr. YANG serves as an Associate Editor for the International Journal of Shipping and Transport Logistics and Maritime Business Review. He has also acted as a guest editor for respected journals like Transportation Research Part E, Transport Policy, Maritime Policy & Management, and the Journal of Advanced Transportation. Since 2019, Dr. YANG has been a Council Member of the International Association of Maritime Economist (IAME).

Dr. YANG chaired funding from various sources, including ESCAP of the United Nations, APEC Transportation Working Group, National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC), Research Grants Council (RGC), NSFC/RGC Joint Research Scheme, Hong Kong Policy Research Fund (PPR), National Science Foundation of Guangdong Province (NSFC Guangdong), Hong Kong Marine Department, Hong Kong Tourism Commission, Hong Kong Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries Department, etc. He has published more than 70 SCI/SSCI papers in over 20 international academic journals, including Transportation Research Part A, B, C, D, and E, Transport Reviews, Journal of Transport Geography, Transportation Science, Transport Policy, IEEE Transactions on Intelligent Transportation Systems, Energy, Maritime Policy & Management, Maine Policy, Maritime Economics & Logistics, Reliability Engineering & System Safety, Accident Analysis & Prevention, Ocean Engineering, Marine Pollution Bulletin, Journal of Navigation, Research in Transportation Business & Management, etc.
