Biography

Dr Achim I. Czerny is Associate Professor at the Department of Logistics and Maritime Studies (LMS), The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, Director of an undergraduate academic program in Aviation Management and Logistics. Previously he was employed at the VU University of Amsterdam, Department of Spatial Economics, and the WHU – Otto Beisheim School of Management. He is a member of the Scientific Advisory Board of the European Aviation Conference, a member of the Executive Committee of the Air Transport Research Society (ATRS), and board member of the German Aviation Research Society (GARS). He studied Economics at the TU Berlin and holds a doctoral degree in Economics from the TU Berlin. He has published in transportation journals and economics journals including Transport Research Parts A, B, E, Economics of Transportation, Journal of Air Transport Management, Journal of Transport Economics and Policy, Journal of Regulatory Economics, and Journal of Economic Behavior and Organization.
