ISM-HK Student Case Competition 2022

ISM-HK Student Case Competition 2022 is a flagship program in March 2022 co-organised by Institute for Supply Management Hong Kong and Department of Logistics and Maritime Studies, PolyU. It is sponsored by EY and Microsoft with attractive incentives. There are 88 teams with more than 300 students registered from 8 universities. The competition aims to empower students to discover the latest and upcoming trends in Supply Chain & Procurement.

Outstanding Alumni Award of PolyU Department of Logistics and Maritime Studies 2022

The Outstanding Alumni Award aims to give public recognition to outstanding graduates for their professional achievements and significant contributions to the community and their alma mater. We are pleased to announce the following awardees of the Outstanding Alumni Award of PolyU Department of Logistics and Maritime Studies 2022 for their remarkable achievements.   Mr Yang Xianguo Outstanding Alumni Award in Professional Achievement of PolyU Department of Logistics and Maritime Studies Mr Yang Xianguo is our graduate of MSc in Quality Management in 2001. In the last twenty years, he has had great contribution in how to govern a better society in China. In recent years he has outstanding research results and suggestions for developing featured towns and national free trade zones. Xianguo was the Country Magistrate of Changxin City Government in Zhejiang (浙江省长兴县县长) and the Chief Procurator of the People’s Procuratorate, Shaoxing, Zhejiang (浙江省绍兴市人民检察院检察长). Currently he is a Counsellor of Zhejiang Province Government (浙江省人民政府参事). In addition, Xianguo provided different guest talks to the alumni activities of Zhejiang University – Hong Kong Polytechnic University Joint Center in Hangzhou. He has been actively promoting and participating in our alumni activities in the last twenty years.   Mr Raymond Cheng Outstanding Young Alumni Award in Professional Achievement of PolyU Department of Logistics and Maritime Studies Mr Raymond Cheng graduated from the BBA (Hons) programme in Global Supply Chain Management in 2010. He joined Kerry Logistics, an Asia’s leading logistics service provider, as a Management Trainee after graduation. Raymond is now the Regional Director - International Freight Forwarding Southeast Asia of Kerry Logistics, stationing in Singapore. He is responsible for the ASEAN International Freight Forwarding (IFF) business, which accounts for over 15% of the group’s freight forwarding volume, and he oversees the company’s operations in 8 countries with over 800 staff members. His contributions and achievements have been highly recognized by Kerry Logistics.

Faculty of Business awarded the Best Logistics Educational Course Provider

Faculty of Business took home the Best Logistics Educational Course Provider award at the 2021 Asian Freight, Logistics and Supply Chain Awards presented on 21 October. The event, organised annually by Asia Cargo News, bestowed 49 different awards on leading service providers and other associated industry professionals in the cargo, logistics and supply chain sectors. The nomination and voting process allowed more than 15,000 readers and e-news subscribers to nominate and determine the winners, making the results the opinion of service users rather than a panel of judges.

Result of LMS Young Career Award 2020

The LMS Young Career Award is set up to recognize the career achievement of our young alumni in the areas of their professions and contributions to society and the university. This year, after evaluation, we have 3 awardees. They are: Mr NG Keng Yeung Cyrus Cyrus graduated from the BBA (Hons) in International Shipping and Transport Logistics programme in 2008. He is currently the Operations Director of Landbridge Ship Management (HK) Limited, which provides ship management and technical support in the fleet and serving business partners. Mr WONG Ho Tai Ronald Ronald graduated from the BBA (Hons) in International Shipping and Transport Logistics programme in 2009. He is also the graduate from the MSc in international shipping and Transport Logistics programme. He is currently the Air Charter & Emergency Services Manager, Asia Pacific of CEVA Logistics Singapore Pte., Ltd. Ronald has been the Chairman of the Logistics Alumni Association (LGTAA) of the Department since 2016. Ms CHAN Wing Kei Vicky Vicky graduated from the BBA (Hons) in Global Supply Chain Management programme in 2011. After several years of working in the industry, she was admitted to the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) for the Master of Applied Science in Supply Chain Management. Upon graduation, she joined Google as the Supply Planning Program Manager (Consumer Hardware).
