PolyU offers a scholarship scheme for outstanding students from Hong Kong, the Chinese mainland and overseas. Details are available from our Study@PolyU website. In addition, there are also scholarships and prizes donated by private organizations, firms, professional bodies and individuals to the University.

The Hong Kong Polytechnic University offers scholarship scheme and financial support to outstanding admitees. Also, PolyU recognizes the academic and/or non-academic achievements of our students through offering different types of scholarships to our students. Normally, current students pursuing full-time undergraduate programmes leading to PolyU awards are eligible for these scholarships (i.e. HKCC, SPEED, PolyU inbound exchange students are not eligible).
Study at PolyU – For those pursuing full-time undergraduate programmes at PolyU, entry scholarships are available for HKDSE students, mainland students and international students based on academic or non-academic achievements. From time to time, a number of private organizations, firms, professional bodies and individuals donate scholarships to the Hong Kong Polytechnic University for recognizing students with outstanding academic and/or non-academic achievements (such as achievements in extra-curricular activities and community services) during their studies at PolyU. Most of the scholarship/ prize awardees are nominated by Heads of Academic Departments. A limited number of scholarships/ prizes are open to application by students.
Study abroad – For those dreaming of studying outside Hong Kong, scholarships are made available to full-time current students to pursue one-semester or one-year overseas studies. These scholarships may specifically require the applicants/ nominees to have the TOEFL or IELTS results for the Donor's consideration of the applications/ nominations. PolyU also offers other sponsorship/ subsidy/ financial assistance to support the living costs of full-time UGC-funded undergraduate students during exchange studies overseas/ in the Chinese mainland.
Service-Learning Scholarship Scheme - The Hong Kong Polytechnic University has set up a Service-Learning Scholarship Scheme under the administration of the Office of Service Learning (OSL). Each Service-Learning Scholarship is HK$6,000/ HK$8,000 per student. The selected awardees will be required to fulfill all requirements, such as attending leadership training, serving as student leaders, submitting logbook and journal etc., in order to receive the scholarship.
HSBC Overseas Scholarship 2019/20 – The Hong Kong Bank Foundation (the Foundation) has approved a contribution of up to HK$1,200,000 towards HSBC Overseas Scholarship 2019/20. These scholarships, with a maximum amount of HK$300,000 each, will be available for selected local undergraduate degree students in Hong Kong. This scholarship scheme is not open for application.
Self-financing Post-secondary Scholarship Scheme (SPSS) 2018/19 -
Innovation and Technology Scholarship 2019 - Around 25 Scholarships each with a maximum value of HK$150,000 for current full-time non-final-year local students pursuing government-funded science-related undergraduate degree programmes of six local tertiary institutions. The nominees must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.3 by Semester One of 2018/19, a satisfactory TOEFL / IELTS score, a passion in innovation and technology & intention of pursuing this as career, be all-rounded and able to demonstrate commitment to Hong Kong. This scholarship is not open for application.
