I am grateful to be part of the PolyU family, particularly as a student in the BSc (Hons) Physiotherapy programme. Embarking on this academic path fills me with immense enthusiasm. As a dedicated full-time athlete, I have personally witnessed and experienced various types of injuries. This first-hand exposure sparked my passion for understanding the human body and its healing process. Consequently, I am genuinely thrilled to have the opportunity to acquire a comprehensive range of knowledge—from theoretical concepts found in textbooks to practical skills that will prove invaluable during my clinical placements.

In addition to my studies, I feel privileged to represent PolyU at the USFHK Annual Athletics Meet. Putting on the iconic red university kit and competing on behalf of the institution is an incredible experience. Witnessing the solidarity and camaraderie among teammates as they cheer and support one another is truly inspiring.

Furthermore, I have had the chance to travel around the world and participate in various competitions, proudly representing Hong Kong. I am deeply grateful for the School's unwavering support of student-athletes, which enables me to pursue my dreams of excelling both in sport and as a future physiotherapist.

Reflecting on this fruitful year, I look forward to the exciting journey that still awaits me at PolyU.

The laboratory facilities and practical classes allowed me to bridge the gap between theory and practice, enabling me to hone my clinical skills. Meanwhile, group projects allowed me to collaborate with diverse students, fostering peer learning and helping me grow alongside my classmates.

One of the most remarkable aspects of this programme has been the unwavering support of my professors. They went above and beyond to ensure my academic success, especially when I was frequently away for sports competitions. They worked tirelessly to help me catch up on missed work, demonstrating a deep dedication to their students' well-being.

As a non-local student, I feel incredibly fortunate to have been a part of such a welcoming environment. The generosity of my peers in sharing learning materials and the encouragement of my professors have been truly heartwarming. I have made wonderful friends and felt deeply supported throughout my studies. This inspired me to work hard, strive for excellence, and approach my future career with confidence.

Additionally, this programme provides a comprehensive set of resources and interactive sessions that facilitate our learning and ensure we build a strong foundation. The physiotherapy students here form an incredibly warm and cohesive community that further enriches my overall experience at PolyU. So far, my time here has been remarkable, and I can't wait to see what more this journey has in store for me.

Studying in the BSc (Hons) in Physiotherapy programme at PolyU has been an enjoyable and rewarding journey. During my first year, I developed a strong foundation in anatomy through learning in the anatomy laboratory, which provides a wide range of resources, including cadaveric specimens, virtual reality, and ultrasound, to help us visualise the human body in a vivid and meaningful way.

Through practical sessions, I have not only strengthened my clinical knowledge and skills, but also developed important qualities such as compassion, empathy, and professionalism. The teachers often used real-life scenarios to challenge us to apply our theoretical knowledge and clinical reasoning. These learning experiences have helped me become more confident in preparing to support future patients as a caring and competent physiotherapist.

I am deeply grateful to the teaching staff, who generously share their expertise and patiently guide us throughout our learning journey. I also truly value the strong camaraderie among my classmates. Despite our busy schedule, we continue to support and encourage one another as we grow together. I am proud to be part of this warm and inspiring community, and I greatly enjoy studying physiotherapy at PolyU.
