Studying in the Physiotherapy programme at PolyU set me on an extraordinary expedition, transforming me into a physiotherapist imbued with expertise and empathy. 

The curriculum begins by instilling fundamental concepts, laying a solid foundation before delving into the complexities of rehabilitation. The laboratory facilities and practical classes allowed me to connect theory and practice, enabling me to hone my skills. Group work also played a meaningful role, enabling me to collaborate with diverse students, fostering collaborative learning and helping me improve alongside my peers. 

One of the most remarkable aspects of this programme has been the unwavering support of my professors. As an athlete who frequently participated in sports competitions, I often struggled to keep up with coursework. Yet my professors consistently went above and beyond to help me catch up, showing genuine care for my academic progress and well‑being.

As a non‑local student, I felt very welcomed. The generosity of my peers in sharing learning materials and the encouragement of my professors have been truly heartwarming. I made many cherished friends and felt deeply appreciated. This motivated me to study hard and strive for excellence, to be confident in my future career. 

The first year of my physiotherapy studies at HKPolyU introduced me to the profession in a meaningful and engaging way. The programme strikes a balance between flexibility and pedagogical design. 

Key courses, such as Functional Anatomy and Movement Science, adopted a blended learning approach, in which I self-studied lecture materials and then attended practical laboratory sessions. This mode of teaching allowed me to control my own learning pace and to arrange my schedule to engage in more activities. Laboratory sessions combine traditional and technological teaching methods, enabling me to learn in an immersive way. For example, we learned Functional Anatomy in the laboratory sessions using cadavers, apps, and VR tools. 

We also explored real‑life case scenarios, through which I interacted with my classmates and expressed my opinions. In Semester 2, we had the opportunity to participate in a job shadowing activity at the HKPolyU rehabilitation clinic. I have become more familiar with the process of providing physiotherapy in clinical settings and learned how to communicate with patients both verbally and non-verbally. 

Overall, my physiotherapy learning journey at PolyU has been inspiring, enriching, and thoroughly enjoyable.

My studies in the BSc (Hons) in Physiotherapy programme at PolyU have been truly enlightening. The lectures, laboratory sessions, and clinical learning opportunities have equipped me with the knowledge, skills, and confidence needed to develop as a future leader in the physiotherapy profession.

During my first year of study, I was impressed by the wide range of learning resources available. From human cadaveric specimens to the VR anatomy system, these resources helped me build an essential foundation for future professional practice. The clinic shadowing sessions also provided valuable early exposure to the field of physiotherapy. Even with my previous experience, the opportunities to observe, practise, and discuss clinical reasoning with staff members further deepened my understanding and strengthened my confidence.

I am sincerely grateful for the patience, support, and genuine care shown by our teachers, who are always willing to answer our questions and guide us through challenges. The class environment has also been excellent. My peers are always ready to support one another, whether by explaining difficult concepts, clarifying confusion, or practising clinical skills together. It has been a great honour to study physiotherapy at PolyU.
