Best Research Postgraduate Student of the Year 2023

The Graduate School establishes the Best Research Postgraduate Student of the Year award to recognise an individual research postgraduate student who is an excellent and inquisitive researcher making a brief impact on peers and research communities. This year, three PhD students were selected to acknowledge their outstanding research and academic performance.

My research plays a fundamental role in not only advancing our understanding of the emerging risk of water-related hazards and associated dynamics in response to the warming climate, but also bringing new knowledge into climate adaptation planning and environmental policy-making for achieving sustainable development goals.

Research focus: Use remote sensing, geospatial techniques, environmental and climate models to investigate the spatiotemporal evolution of extreme weather and climate events as well as associated physical mechanisms.

As I approach the completion of my doctoral programme, I am eager to continue making lasting contributions to the field, advancing speech therapy practices with excellence and innovation.

Research focus: Devise an evaluation procedure and treatment approach for Cantonese-speaking adults and children with apraxia of speech.

My research not only solves key issues in zinc-air batteries, but also advances the commercialization of zinc-air batteries for long-duration energy storage.
