* Full-time stipend recipients have to complete programme registration within the period specified in the Notice of Offer and report study at the General Office of the host department/school on or before the deadline as specified above in order to receive the full-month stipend in the first month. Stipend recipients who fail to complete programme registration or report study by the deadline will start receiving stipends from the first day of the following month of the date that he/she commences study.

Schedule of Online Programme Registration

You will be informed via the Notice of Offer to complete the online programme registration during the following periods:

Semester One, 2022/23: 1/8/2022 (Monday) – 28/8/2022 (Sunday)


Mandatory Research Language Skills Assessment (RLSA)

Please take the RLSA in your first semester of study at PolyU and you may be required to take relevant subjects based on your performance. You are advised to enrol in the English enhancement subject(s) only after obtaining the result of the RLSA. ELC will arrange the result announcement within eight weeks after the test.

National Education Requirement (for research students admitted from 2022/23 onwards)

Starting from the 2022/23 intake cohort, all research students are required to complete the National Education Requirement before thesis submission as a graduation requirement. Students are encouraged to complete the requirement as early as possible. Details on the requirement and its implementation will be available in due course.

For new students who are admitted in Semester One, 2022/23:

22 – 31 August 2022 (Monday to Friday)
9:30 - 11:00 a.m.
2:30 - 5:00 p.m.

Please use your NetID and password to apply a QR access code via Visitor Registration System 48 hours before you come to PolyU to collect your student ID card.  You can refer to the User Guide for details.

Getting Ready for Campus

For new students who are admitted in Semester One, 2022/23, please report in person to the general office of your host department on or before 29 August 2022. The GS will hold an orientation programme for all new RPg students in September every year.  The last orientation was held on 10 September 2021.
