Student Message

I am incredibly grateful for my time in the programme, which truly shaped my mindset as the director of a surgical robot development company. It provided a holistic foundation in product development, human-centred design, and market analysis, while emphasising the importance of interdisciplinary collaboration. These insights have been vital to my growth and my ongoing work in advancing surgical robotics.

KWOK Siu Lun, Alan

The programme provided me a strong foundation in engineering design principles while sharpening my critical thinking and analytical skills. Working closely with classmates, tutors, and industry mentors taught me to evaluate alternative solutions, incorporate practical features, and refine our presentations. It helped build both the technical mindset and interpersonal skills needed to tackle real-world industry challenges.

Wong Hei Nam, Hannah

My dual-degree journey at SCUT and PolyU offered the best of both worlds: SCUT provided a rigorous theoretical foundation, while PolyU emphasised hands-on practice, culminating in my work as a robotics lab research assistant. Navigating two academic cultures wasn't always easy, but it taught me to think adaptively. If you are considering this path, go for it: the combined experience offers a breadth of insight a single campus simply cannot provide.
