Aims and Characteristics
The BSc (Hons) in Hotel and Tourism Management programme offered by SHTM is developed to nurture competent professionals who are equipped for a variety of industry positions in the hotel, tourism, event, and broader service industries with a customer service orientation. During the study period, the School will offer a multi-disciplinary education that equips students with the professional knowledge and skills for a broad range of complex, managerial and specialized work activities in hospitality, tourism and event industry. By the completion of this programme, students will learn to be customer-focused, independent and forward-thinking leaders. They will also gain a global perspective that will help them to meet the challenges faced by the dynamic hotel, tourism, event and broader service industries. We are confident that graduates of our programme will not only make meaningful contributions to the delivery of quality service in hospitality, tourism and event industry, but also contribute to the operation and management of local and international hospitality and tourism enterprises.
