I am grateful to be part of the PolyU family, particularly as a student enrolled in the BSc(Hons) Physiotherapy programme. Embarking on this journey of studying physiotherapy fills me with immense enthusiasm. As a dedicated full-time athlete, I have personally witnessed and experienced various types of injuries. This first-hand exposure sparked my passion for understanding the human body and its healing process. Thus, I am genuinely thrilled to have the opportunity to acquire a comprehensive range of knowledge, from theoretical concepts found in textbooks to practical skills that will prove invaluable during my placements.

In addition to my studies, I feel privileged to have the opportunity to represent PolyU at the USFHK Annual Athletics Meet. It is an incredible experience to put on the iconic red racing suit and compete on behalf of the University. Witnessing the solidarity and camaraderie among teammates as they cheer and support one another is truly inspiring.

Furthermore, I have had the chance to travel around the world and participate in various competitions, proudly representing Hong Kong. I am deeply grateful for the School's unwavering support of its athletes, which enables me to pursue my dreams of excelling both as an athlete and a future physiotherapist.

Reflecting on this fruitful year, I look forward to the exciting journey that awaits me at PolyU.

Studying in the Physiotherapy programme at PolyU set me on an extraordinary journey, transforming me into a physiotherapist imbued with expertise and empathy. 

The courses begin by imparting fundamental concepts, laying a solid foundation before delving into the complexities of rehabilitation. The laboratory facilities and practical classes allowed me to bridge the gap between theory and practice, enabling me to hone my skills. Meanwhile, group work allowed me to collaborate with diverse students, fostering collaborative learning and improving with my peers. 

One of the most remarkable aspects of this programme has been the unwavering support of my professors. They went above and beyond to ensure my academic success when I was often away for sports competitions. They worked tirelessly to help me catch up on missed work, demonstrating their dedication to supporting the well-being of their students.

As a non-local student, I feel incredibly fortunate to have been a part of this welcoming environment. The generosity of my peers in sharing learning materials and the encouragement of my professors have been truly heartwarming. I have made many wonderful friends and feel deeply appreciated. This motivated me to study hard and strive for excellence, to have confidence in my future career. 

My studies on the BSc (Hons) in Physiotherapy programme at PolyU have truly been enjoyable, fulfilling, and deeply rewarding. With a strong emphasis on essential skills and knowledge, as well as a focus on shaping students' mindset, this course nurtures our development into well-rounded physiotherapists, setting us on a path to thrive in the real world. Although I have only completed the first year of the programme thus far, I am grateful to have met many great mentors and to be part of such a supportive and inclusive community. The professors and lecturers are not only willing to share their experiences and knowledge to help us understand, they also create an enjoyable learning environment through their support and encouragement. Additionally, this programme provides a comprehensive set of resources and interactive sessions that facilitate our learning and ensure we build a strong foundation. The physiotherapy students here form an incredibly warm and supportive community that only further enriches my learning experience at PolyU. So far, my time here has been remarkable, and I can't wait to see what more this journey has in store for me.
