The PolyU Gen AI app was refreshed with the latest AI models on 1 August 2026. The additional AI models include Gemini 3.6 Flash, Gemini 3.5 Flash-Lite, GLM-5.2, MiniMax M3, Kimi K2.6, and Tencent Hy3.

The Joint University Computing Centre (JUCC) has issued a joint tender on behalf of institutions for Google Gemini Enterprise for Education.

August workshops for students and instructors: Canvas and interactive teaching

This August, ITS will offer workshops on Canvas and classroom AV/IT technologies. Topics include course management, assessments, communication tools, video learning, wireless presentation, session recording, smart panels, LED walls, and other classroom technologies designed to enhance teaching and learning.

Leveraging AIMA as a pre-grading tool and for draft feedback

Subject teachers and graders can leverage the AI Marking Assistant (AIMA) to assist with student assignment pre-grading and provide draft improvement feedback for each assignment submission.

Capture assessment moderation records on Assessment Moderation Platform (AMP)

Assessment moderation records should be entered into AMP in accordance with the assessment moderation policy. This will become mandatory from Semester 1 of the 2026/27 academic year.

Leverage the University Desktop Sharing (UDS) Platform for remote access to lab machines

The University has received an official notice from TeamViewer stating that there have been frequent remote connections originating from the PolyU network using the installed home version of TeamViewer software.

Renewal of SAS Statistical Software Licence

The current licence for the SAS statistical software will expire on 30 December 2026.

PolyU Gen AI app updates on 1 June 2026

On 1 July 2026, PolyU GenAI added Nano Banana 2, Qwen3.7-Plus, and Mistral-Medium-3.5, upgrading image generation, multimodal agent tasks, reasoning, coding, vision, multilingual support, and large-context productivity features for users.
