Canvas workshop for students covers the Canvas mobile app, student navigation within course material, checking instructor communication through announcements and assignment due dates on the calendar, submission of written or video assignments, and finding grades, as well as utilizing discussions to learn from classmates.
Instructors are welcome to attend the upcoming Teaching on Canvas workshops in August. In addition to Canvas topics, participants can also explore the latest classroom AV/IT facilities and technologies that support active learning, wireless presentation, session recording, and interactive teaching.
Workshops will cover the following topics:
- Preparing course material by unit, topic, or teaching week to guide students through learning paths
- Managing assignments and quizzes, tracking student progress, and providing feedback using Gradebook
- Communicating with students via announcements and discussions
- Customizing navigation, adding TAs and configuring course details, creating student groups, and personalizing learning journeys based on student performance in assessments
- Lecture capture, publishing video learning content, and setting up video assignments using Canvas Studio
