Professional Recognition
This programme has been fully accredited by the Hong Kong Institution of Engineers (HKIE). As such, graduates of this programme are qualified for Corporate Membership in HKIE after appropriate training and are eligible to join HKIE’s Scheme A training in the following disciplines:

Environmental Discipline, and
-
Logistics & Transportation Discipline (upon completion of specific elective subjects).
Students will fulfil the academic requirements of a Safety Supervisor upon the completion of three specific safety subjects.
Career Prospects
The majority of our graduates embark upon rewarding careers in government departments and authorities or as engineering consultants and construction contractors soon after graduation. After a few years of work experience, many graduates further advance their careers by sitting an examination to become professional engineers. Other graduates pursue higher degrees at prestigious overseas institutions.

The common Year 1 curriculum covers fundamental knowledge and the latest issues in environmental engineering and the related fields of civil engineering and construction.

The Year 2 and Year 3 curricula cover comprehensive theoretical and practical knowledge in the fields of environmental science, environmental engineering, management, and sustainable development.

The Year 4 curriculum provides in-depth exposure to specific fields of interest through a wide range of advanced elective subjects. Students conduct a Design Project, which requires them to integrate the knowledge and skills they have acquired in their first 3 years of study, and an Individual Capstone Project, which provides them with research experience and supports their further intellectual development.
