Prof. Maxime X. Wang received his PhD in Hospitality Administration from the University of Houston, United States, in 2019. Before joining the School of Hotel and Tourism Management at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University as Assistant Professor, he worked at the University of Houston as a Research Associate in the Office of Faculty Engagement and Development, Research Assistant and Instructor in the Conrad N. Hilton College of Hotel and Restaurant Management. His research focuses on work relationships, employee ethicality, employee emotions, employee well-being, leadership and AI adoption in HR management. His work is published in peer-reviewed journal articles including Journal of Applied Psychology, Tourism Management, International Journal of Hospitality Management, and International Journal of Contemporary Hospitality Management. He is the recipient of GRF and NSFC grants. He serves as editorial board member of peer-reviewed journals (e.g., Tourism Management, and Management and Organization Review). He received the Best Paper Award at the West Federation CHRIE conference in 2018, and at Global Tourism & Hospitality Conference in 2022. Courses he taught include Human Resource Management, Leadership in the Hospitality Industry, Meeting and Convention Management, Branding and Business Development, Academic Integrity and Ethics. He is fluent in Mandarin, English, and French.
