Research
I am exploring multimodality and multiliteracies in technology-assisted English language education. Specifically, I'm interested in: first, how technology and multimodal resources in academic English courses support the development of language proficiency and multiliteracies, with attention to learning outcomes, learning processes, and learners’ cognitive and affective experiences; second, how multimodal semiotic resources in English for Specific Purposes (ESP) courses simultaneously facilitate language learning and content mastery, strengthening disciplinary multiliteracies and professional communication; and third, how these multimodal, technology-enhanced approaches can better include and empower students who are underrepresented in traditional language-learning contexts. Together, this work aims to clarify the pedagogical affordances of multimodal resources and inform more equitable, effective practices for English language and literacy education.
