An article written by our Dr Phoebe Lin titled, "In Search of the Optimal Mode of Input for the Acquisition of Formulaic Expressions", has been recognised as a Top Cited Article in 2021-22 in a top-tier journal, TESOL Quarterly under Wiley.

This article reports a controlled experiment to investigate the effect of input mode and frequency effects on incidental Formulaic expressions (FEs) acquisition by L1 and EFL learners. The results confirm that input modality affects FE learning. Visual input is more conducive to FE learning than aural input, for both L1 and EFL learner groups.
