This three-session workshop series aims to provide participants with an overview of and some hands-on practice in the development, design and use of rubrics.

Session 1 reviews the development and main features of rubric assessment in Outcome Based Education (OBE) at PolyU. It will be particularly relevant for colleagues new to PolyU and OBE.

Session 2 elaborates how to design rubrics for common types of assessment tasks at PolyU and engages participants in some hands-on activities.

Session 3 discusses the results of a recent survey about teacher use of rubrics at PolyU and engages participants in sharing their own experiences and in some hands-on activities.

At the end of this workshop series, participants will develop a deeper understanding of rubric assessment in OBE at PolyU and take home some practical examples for developing, designing and using rubrics to mark, grade and teach.

Colleagues are highly encouraged to bring along relevant subject assessment tasks and rubrics for hands-on practice and discussion.
