Administrative Support

PAIR actively collaborates with other strategic pillars at PolyU to advance interdisciplinary research, foster knowledge transfer, and drive research impact. Key collaborating offices include:

• Graduate School (GS) — Supports research talent development and postgraduate education.
• Institutional Planning and Analytics Office (IPAO)  — Drives PolyU’s strategic development and planning through institutional research, analytics, and performance benchmarking.
• Knowledge Transfer and Entrepreneurship Office (KTEO) — Facilitates technology transfer, intellectual property management, and start-up support.
• Policy Research Centre for Innovation and Technology (PReCIT) — Provides policy research and strategic insights to advance innovation and technology development.
• Research and Innovation Office (RIO) — Oversees research development, funding, and compliance.

PAIR also maintains strong partnerships with PolyU State Key Laboratories (SKLs), Chinese National Engineering Research Centres (CNERCs), and Mainland Translational Research Institutes (MTRIs). By leveraging the expertise and infrastructure of these national and regional centres, PAIR reinforces PolyU’s role in advancing impactful research and cross‑border knowledge transfer while enhancing Hong Kong’s position as a hub for innovation and technology.

Event Organisation & Management

• Hosting PAIR’s signature events, including Distinguished Lectures, Seminars, Researchers' Corners, Salons;
• Co-organising large-scale scholarly and public events (e.g., conferences, summits, research showcase exhibitions);
• Providing support for events organised by PAIR's RIs and RCs;
• Coordinating delegation visits to encourage interdisciplinary research and collaborations within and outside PolyU.

Marketing & Promotion

• Planning, developing, coordinating and executing marketing activities;
• Managing online and offline publicities;
• Supporting the day-to-day marketing and communication needs of RIs and RCs — including website development, content editing);
• Serving as a communication bridge between RIs and RCs, other PolyU units and external parties.

PAIR’s promotion channels encompass the website, global and mainland social media platforms, publications (such as newsletters, annual reports, posters, brochures and leaflets), videos (including research impact video series and corporate videos), mass mailings, event promotions, community and scholarly engagement, and press outreach.

These channels enable PAIR to connect the PolyU community (e.g., academic and research staff, students, alumni), peers (such as top scientists, academics) and partners (e.g., industry leaders, government units, supporters, and donors).

Physical Facilities

PolyU houses a diverse array of state-of-the-art research facilities and equipment that enable cutting-edge innovation and collaboration.  The research activities conducted by PAIR's RIs and RCs are supported by the following facilities.
