The water-tunnel laboratory is equipped with a low-speed, closed-loop water tunnel with a test section of 2 m (length) × 0.3 m (width) × 0.6 m (height) and a maximum water speed of 0.5 m/s. The water tunnel is used for teaching as well as research into flow control, fluid-structure interaction and turbulent flows. It is equipped with state-of-the-art equipment, including a particle image velocimetry (PIV) system with a continuous-wave laser and high-speed cameras, a 6-component force measurement system.
