Established in 1976, the Industrial Centre (IC) was originally set up to provide foundational and practical training as part of the PolyU’s holistic education for engineering and construction students. Over the past five decades, the IC has evolved into an innovation and technology hub that supports engineering education while providing technical and research support to researchers and students in bringing their research, projects, and incubation initiatives to life. 
The IC serves as a “Technical Library”, housing a comprehensive range of engineering facilities and equipment, supported by a strong pool of expertise across various engineering disciplines. It is the only establishment of its kind among the eight UGC-funded universities in Hong Kong.
