Application Procedures
Step 1: Eligibility
An email notification from IC General Office (ICGO) will be sent to your student mailbox to inform you of your eligibility. You may contact ICGO for any queries regarding your eligibility.
Step 2: Application Form
Complete and submit this online application form with a recent photo (JPG format, file size under 10,240 KB).
Step 3: Confirmation Email
An email notification with your application number will be sent to your registered mailbox once you have successfully submitted your application. Please quote this application number when checking application status and submitting supplementary documents.
Step 4: Payment
Pay the application fee of HKD $40 using one of the following methods:
a) Pay online via PolyU Finance Office "PolyU Online Payment Portal"; or
Filter by Department: IC, Industrial Centre
Item: IC02 Application - Mandatory Basic Safety Training for Construction Industry (IC-T16)
b) Pay in person at IC Student Enquiry Counter (W309) by cash or Octopus card.
* Please note that your application will only be processed upon receipt of ALL necessary documents. The normal processing time is approximately 1 month, however, this may vary depending on the volume of applications.
Step 5: Card Collection
An email notification will be sent to your registered mailbox when the Green Card is ready. Please bring along your Hong Kong ID card, Student ID card and other necessary documents (e.g. No Objection Letter (NOL) for non-local students) to the IC Student Enquiry Counter for verification and card collection.
Points to Note:
Regardless of the day of the card application, the card is only valid for 3 years counted from the “Announcement Date – Subject Results”, to be announced at the end of each semester (total 3 semesters every year) by our Academic Registry. The validity period of the card should be counted from the date when the student successfully completes the course.
IC will withdraw your application if you are ineligible for application and/or your personal particulars stated are inconsistent, and the application fee will NOT be refunded. You will need to submit another new application with application fee for the Green Card.
IC is not responsible for the safe custody of any uncollected cards after the designated collection period and may destroy them without any further notice.
The personal data provided will be used by the Industrial Centre for the purpose of assessment of your application only. In addition, this information may be disclosed to relevant party and authority i.e. Commissioner for Labour, Labour Department of Hong Kong SAR.
