PolyU students have achieved outstanding success in the 2025 Greater Bay Area (Guangdong–Hong Kong–Macao) First BIM Application Competition and the 7th Guangdong Province BIM Application Competition, securing top awards and recognition for their innovative work.

ENE team of IC supported the students by providing professional advice and guidance on applying Building Information Modelling (BIM) to explore and develop the design of a new academic building, enhancing both the project’s sustainability performance and its intelligent application capabilities. A joint team of students from the Department of Building Environment and Energy Engineering (BEEE) and the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering (CEE) was awarded First Prize, highlighting the strength of interdisciplinary collaboration and practical innovation.

Beyond their success in competition, students have strengthened their technical proficiency in BIM software while developing critical competencies in project design coordination, collaboration, and management. The students also demonstrated their ability to integrate academic knowledge from PolyU into real-world applications, ensuring that sustainability requirements were effectively addressed throughout the design and planning process.

This achievement highlights IC’s ongoing commitment to supporting PolyU students in progressing from local platforms to regional competitions in the Greater Bay Area.
