Title of thesis:

Digital discursive governance of environmental issues in Mainland China: An LLMs-assisted discourse analysis of government strategies and citizens’ attitudes

Description of thesis research:

Deploying an LLMs-assisted discourse analysis, this project aims to explore the digital discursive governance of environmental issues in Mainland China. It endeavors to figure out more generalisable discursive strategies employed by Chinese public sectors in their governance of environment-related issues and map out more complex and nuanced citizensattitudes towards corresponding governance performances. Further, by integrating the insights of the first two investigations, it strives to have a comprehensive understanding of the discourse system of digital environmental governance in mainland China and dig out certain Chinese principles or values.
