Department of Building and Real Estate honours outstanding alumni
The Department of Building and Real Estate presented "Outstanding BRE Alumni Award 2020" to the two distinguished graduates in recognition of their remarkable accomplishments in their profession and significant contributions to society and their alma mater.

Sr AU Choi Kai, SBS
Higher Diploma in Surveying (Building Surveying) (Year of Award : 1974)
Former Director of Buildings, Buildings Department, The Government of HKSAR
Sr Au Choi-kai, graduated with a Higher Diploma in Surveying (Building Surveying) in 1974, held a number of positions in the Buildings Ordinance Office and the Buildings Department in Hong Kong. With his 40 years of work experience, Sr Au has profound knowledge in building control and formulation of statutory building standards. After retiring, he received an Honour Award of Silver Bauhinia Star in 2014 and has been continuing his community service in over 20 institutions/associations, giving his best back to society.
Sr Tony TSE Wai Chuen, BBS
Higher Diploma in Surveying (Year of Award : 1976)
Member of the Legislative Council for Architectural, Surveying, Planning and Landscape
Graduated with a Higher Diploma in Surveying in 1976, Sr Tse Wai-chuen has engaged in the real estate business for more than 40 years during which he contributed much of his efforts in advancing surveying and town planning in the public and private sectors in Hong Kong. Sr Tse is currently a Member of the Legislative Council in Architectural, Surveying, Planning and Landscape. He has made many suggestions to policies that are beneficial to the industry and society during his tenure and was awarded the Bronze Bauhinia Star in 2014.
