Your student email account will be our primary means of communication, and you may access eStudent for study-related information. Do not disclose or share your user account information with anyone.
If you encounter difficulties in activating your account and mailbox, contact the Information Technology Services Office (ITS).
Complete the required online courses and surveys in eAdmission to help us get to know you and to raise awareness of issues such as deception and harassment.
Make a booking in eAdmission to collect your student identity card, which is required for accessing campus facilities.
It is particularly important to keep your residential address, correspondence address and Hong Kong mobile number updated at all times during your study at the PolyU. You can update this information via eStudent.
Concurrent Enrolment
You are not allowed to enrol concurrently on two full-time UGC-funded programmes, whether or not one is offered by another institution. You are also not allowed to enrol concurrently on more than one programme (regardless of mode of study), including those offered by another institution, without permission from the PolyU Head(s) of Department concerned, except for programmes which do not lead to any formal award. Failure to obtain written approval before enrolment will result in discontinuation of your study at PolyU, and the tuition fees paid for the programme(s) will not be refunded.

To apply for concurrent enrolment, download and complete Form AR38 and return it to the Academic Registry before registering for the programme(s). The University will not arrange special timetabling in the event of class or examination clashes.

Subject Registration
MTR Student Travel Scheme Application
Full-time students aged 25 or below may be eligible for the MTR Student Travel Scheme. Application details will be available on the Academic Registry website and eStudent around mid-August 2026.
Hong Kong Identity Card (HKIC) Application
Under the Registration of Persons Ordinance, non-local students must apply for an HKIC at the Immigration Department within 30 days of arrival (for application details, please visit https://www.immd.gov.hk/eng/index.html). You may book an appointment with the Immigration Department through one of these three methods:
- https://www.gov.hk/en/residents/immigration/idcard/hkic/bookregidcard.htm (form pre-filling service available);
- "HK Immigration Department" Mobile Application (form pre-filling service available); or
- the 24-hour telephone appointment booking hotline at (852) 2598 0888.

There is no charge for HKIC issued to new arrivals. Once you get the HKIC, you are entitled to use the government medical services at local rates. You are required to carry your HKIC at all times.

Upon receipt of the HKIC, please notify PolyU by completing and returning Form AR1 in person to the Academic Registry Service Centre (Room M101, Li Ka Shing Tower).

College of Undergraduate Studies (CUS) is dedicated to excellence in undergraduate education encompassing the General University Requirements (GUR) and interdisciplinary studies. CUS supports the Bachelor’s Degree Scheme in Interdisciplinary Studies (BDSIS) and Minor programmes, provides comprehensive undergraduate studies support and advancement of education on the Nation and Hong Kong, China. General University Requirements
The General University Requirements (GUR) is part of the undergraduate curriculum of PolyU, which you must take along with your major study. You are highly recommended to attend a briefing session to understand the GUR subject requirements and registration procedures.
Undergraduate studies support through Academic Advising
Each undergraduate student will be paired up with a Designated Academic Advisor from their Faculty/School/Department. Students should consult their Designated Academic Advisors on their programme of study and study plans at least once in a semester through face-to-face meetings or online platforms. Students should pay attention to the information on academic advising from their home departments.
The Graduate School (GS) supports and coordinates research postgraduate (RPg) studies at PolyU, including managing RPg-related matters and providing resources and services for RPg students.

The Information Technology Services Office provides a number of IT services for students. You are encouraged to leverage IT services listed in ITS's website to enhance your studies and projects.
PolyU Student Mobile App - PolyULife
You are highly encouraged to install PolyULife, which facilitates students the access of essential information for study such as personal class and exam timetable, payment due date, study information and push notifications to support students’ studies at PolyU. Students can find a list of useful online resources to various student-related applications in this mobile app including classroom booking enquiry, eStudent, Library, PolyU Online Student Services (POSS), Scholarship, Job Board, etc.

Your well-being at PolyU is our priority. The University Health Service (UHS) offers full-time students medical consultations, emergency care, minor operative treatments, immunisation, health certificates, nursing care and subsidised dental services. The UHS Traditional Chinese Medicine clinic provides consultations, acupuncture, manipulation and Chinese medicine granules.
