Points to Note

During registration:

  • Select and add subject(s) into your subject shopping cart, then press the ‘Proceed to Preview’ button and then the 'Confirm' button to proceed. Otherwise, the selected subjects will not be recorded.
  • For subjects pre-assigned/registered to you by your Department, you are not required to confirm again via eStudent. Please check the class timetable and attend the classes accordingly.
  • You are reminded to check if you have taken the required compulsory and core subjects to fulfill the graduation requirements. Please refer to your programme requirement document for details of your graduation requirements.

When the class is FULL:

  • If a class is full but open for enrollment for waitlisting as indicated by the subject offering department, you will be placed on the waitlist for the subject concerned automatically when you confirm to proceed with your subject selection. A real-time waitlist position will be shown for your easy reference. When a vacancy becomes available, students on the subject waitlist will be registered automatically corresponding to your position on the waitlist. An email notification will be sent to you upon successful registration of a waitlisted subject. For further details, please refer to FAQ > waitlisting function

After registration:

  • A reference number will be generated when you have completed your subject registration successfully. Please send us an email at ar.subreg@polyu.edu.hk immediately if you are not given any reference number.
  • If you wish to make changes to your subject registration after the Subject Registration Period, please do so during the Adjustment before Semester Commencement Period and/or the Add/Drop Period (after Semester commencement).
  • Subject registration record(s) which violating the University regulations will be removed after the Add/Drop period.
  • Students are not allowed to drop any subjects after the Add/Drop Period. If you have a genuine need to withdraw from a subject after the Add/Drop Period, please refer to Section 5G 'Withdrawal of Subjects' of the Student Handbook for details.
  • Students of Higher Diploma and Bachelor's Degree programmes can access the Reference Checklist via eStudent > My Profile > Study Information > Reference Checklist (Subjects Taken vs Your Graduation Requirements). Please read through the section Points to Note at the end of the checklist for detailed explanations of the displayed information. You should always refer to the relevant Programme Requirement Document(s) for the detailed subjects/credits requirements of your programme(s) and are advised to contact your programme offering department(s) as soon as possible if you have identified any discrepancies between the programme requirement document(s) and the checklist, so that rectifications can be applied to the system settings on your graduation requirements, where appropriate.
