Election of Student Members to Senate and Senate Committees 2025/26
Senate is the highest authority on all academic and related matters within the University. Chaired by the President, its members include the Deputy President and Provost, Vice-Presidents, Deans, Heads of academic unit (HoU), Chair Professors nominated by HoUs, Chair Professors, academic staff elected by their peers or co-opted by Senate, and student representatives, etc. Its powers and duties are detailed in the Statute of Senate.
A total of 50 student member vacancies are open for the election to Senate and Senate Committees, including Faculty/College/School Boards, in this exercise. Elected members will serve for a 1-year term from 1 November 2025 to 31 October 2026.

Nomination Period [9 - 22 Sep 2025 (by 11.59 pm)]
All nomination forms should be returned to the Academic Registry by email at senate.election@polyu.edu.hk by 11.59 pm on Monday, 22 September 2025.

Announcement of Nominations (23 Sep 2025) / Confirmation of Nominations (2 Oct 2025)
List of nominations will be announced on Tuesday, 23 September 2025. If the Nominees wish to withdraw their consent to the nomination, they should submit a notice in writing to the Election Officer via email at senate.election@polyu.edu.hk on or before Tuesday, 30 September 2025.
The confirmed list will be announced on Thursday, 2 October 2025.

Online Polling [18 (9 am) - 21 Oct 2025 (11.59 pm)]
Voting by secret ballot will be conducted via an online platform during the period from 9.00 am on Saturday, 18 October to 11.59 pm on Tuesday, 21 October 2025 (Hong Kong Time).

Period for Lodging Complaints (23 - 24 Oct 2025)
Any complaint arising from the conduct of the election shall be lodged with the Election Officer within 24 hours of the announcement of the result of the election.
Confirmation of final election results will be announced on Monday, 27 October 2025 subject to no complaints being received.
