During the talk, which was attended by more than 500 students and guests, Ms Chan talked about visiting six provinces and the most deprived regions in Mainland China for the production of the documentary. She witnessed first-hand the progress and efforts made by the Chinese government to alleviate poverty and improve the quality of people’s lives.

Ms Chan has travelled to more than 30 countries during the course of her career, an experience she has found invaluable. She encouraged young people to explore the nation and the world, pursue their aspirations and make positive contributions to society.
