Remarks

The population is ageing rapidly worldwide. By 2050, it is estimated that 2.8million people will be over 65 years old in Hong Kong. Older people will constitute 35% of our population - approximately a double of the number in 2020. Providing proper care to the older people is an important task in the upcoming healthcare plan. The presentation will provide brief introduction to common geriatric syndromes including frailty, sarcopenia, and falls. It will also discuss related researches on case identification, assessment, and preventive exercise training.
