Summary
The third PolyU Chinese Culture Festival took us on a journey through the distinctive and colourful traditions of Hakka culture earlier this month. In November, the Festival will culminate in its grand finale, Riding the Silk Road Tides: Fujian & Hong Kong in Harmony—2026 Fujian Cultural Showcase (the Cultural Showcase), featuring the rich heritage and vibrant diversity of Fujian culture. Organised by PolyU and co-organised by the Hong Kong and Macao Affairs Office of the People’s Government of Fujian Province, the Cultural Showcase is held with the staunch support of the Hong Kong Federation of Fujian Associations Limited, the Federation of Jinjiang Hong Kong Associations Limited, Xiamen University, Fuzhou University and Quanzhou Normal University.
Commencing on 25 November, the Cultural Showcase will feature a diverse programme of activities, including an Opening Ceremony and Cultural Performance, the “Panorama of Fujian’s Cultural Heritage” thematic exhibition, the Fujian–Hong Kong Cultural Exchange Forum, the “Intangible Cultural Heritage Kaleidoscope · Fujian Charm” Immersive Experience Fair , and themed experiential classes. With Fujian culture serving as a bridge, the programme aims to deepen cultural and people-to-people exchanges between Fujian and Hong Kong, while showcasing the profound heritage and contemporary vitality of Fujian culture.
As 25 November 2026 also marks PolyU’s Anniversary Day, the University will hold an Anniversary Day Flag-raising Ceremony that morning. All students and staff are cordially invited to bring along their family and friends to join the Flag-raising Ceremony and the Opening Ceremony of the Cultural Showcase.
